The Passing Year

By Stanley Wheeler

SPRING
The Snowdrops now have come and gone,
Now the Bluebells woods adorn.
Next the Daffodils with nodding heads,
Followed by Roses, Whites, Yellows and Reds.

SUMMER
Summer now comes with all its joys,
Children out playing with their toys.
Holidays are on their way,
Seaside sands on which to play.

AUTUMN
Autumn follows and trees turn brown,
Their leaves and fruits cover much of Town.
But the happiness they give to all
Remains with us right through the "Fall".

WINTER
Winter comes with shortening days.
Journeys are cut in many ways.
But our thoughts are with us ever more
That Spring returns when Winter's o'er.
