ST GILES’ CHURCH MONTHLY STREET PRAYER LIST

Each week at St Giles’ Church we pray for all the people who live or work in a particular road in the Parish. During September we will pray for the following roads:

Sept 2nd           Bridge Way
Sept 9th            Broadacre Close
Sept 16th          Burford Close
Sept 23rd          Burnham Avenue
Sept 30th          Bushey Road

If you live in one of these roads why not join us at our 8am or 9.45am services?  You will be most welcome.

CHILDREN’S SOCIETY BOXES

A number of people in the St Giles’ congregation collect small change in Children’s Society Boxes at home.  It is the time of year for the change to be gathered in.  Please could you return your boxes to Peter Rayner at 6 Eleanor Grove, Ickenham, or telephone him on 01895 637204 to arrange for collection.  Thank you.

ABBEYFIELD

Firstly, we deeply regret to report the death of John James (aged 84) who had been a resident at Ickenham Abbeyfield for over 19 years.  John was a real character, with a lovely sense of humour and was very popular with everyone associated with Abbeyfield and elsewhere.  He will be much missed.

On a brighter note, the newly-refurbished, two units of en-suite accommodation are due to be completed in October.

Further to the article in June, Abbeyfield is still hoping for a volunteer to replace the present Chairman and the appointment of a paid, weekend cook/housekeeper.  For more information please ring Derek Hughes on 01895 624414.
