NEW DATE FOR URC JUMBLE

This will now take place at the URC on Saturday 27th October, between 10am and 12 noon.  Admission is free.  If you have items to donate, please bring them to the church between 6pm and 8pm on Friday 26th October, or if that is not possible, phone Richard Piper on 01895 634348 to arrange to have them collected.  It will be a big one, so don’t miss it!

MEN’S BREAKFAST

The next in the interesting series of Men’s Breakfasts will be taking place on Saturday 13th October at 8.30am in St Giles’ Church Hall.  The speaker will be Giles Denham CBE, a senior civil servant.  Tickets cost £2, covering the cost of a continental breakfast, and are available from Don Gwilt on 01895 673704.

 

ST GILES’ COFFEE MORNING

Take a break from your Saturday morning shopping on 20th October by popping into the Coffee Morning in St Giles’ Church Hall.  Open from 9.30am until 11.30am, there will also be cards and gifts on sale, as well as a raffle.  All proceeds go to the St Giles’ Church Hall Fund.  We look forward to seeing you there.

 

DEREK KNEALE

We deeply regret to report the death, on 13th September, of Derek Kneale.  Derek was a sidesman at St Giles’, also a member of the PCC and chairman of the Hall Committee.  He will be much missed by all who knew him, and an obituary will follow.  He leaves his wife Freda and a son and daughter.

 

FUN FOR THE FAMILY - FESTIVAL RACE NIGHT

On Saturday 6th October, the Festival Committee are organising a Family Race Night at the Village Hall to help raise funds for next year’s Ickenham Festival Week.  Doors open at 7pm, with the first race at 7.30pm.

ALL THAT JAZZ

There are two opportunities this month to enjoy jazz music locally. 

The Monthly Jazz session at West Ruislip Golf Centre, Ickenham Road is on Monday 15th October this time, at 8.30pm.  The Jazz Quintet features internationally acclaimed Jack Emblow on accordion plus Roger Nobes on vibes.  Admission is £5.

Then Jazz at Pinner Parish Church in Church Lane HA5 3AA on Saturday 20th October at 8pm showcases Marty Grosz and Ken Peplowski.  Visit www.pinnerjazz.org.uk for further details.
