URC AUCTION IS HERE!

On Sat 3rd May, we will have the usual cornucopia of collectables, pictures, jewellery and quality household goods available at the Auction in the URC Hall.  There will be something for everyone, including guitars, a brand new Singer sewing machine, body boards, children's scooters, an ornamental chess set, 1950s' jigsaw puzzles and historic newspapers and magazines including Picture Post and a Daily Herald covering news of the Abdication.

A Plant and Book Sale in the morning starts us off, with coffee, tea and home-made cakes available throughout.  Admission is FREE, with just £1 for an Auction catalogue and bidding number. The full timetable is as follows:

10am to 12 noon         Plant and Book Sale

11am                           Auction advanced viewing

1.15pm                        Auction official viewing (with catalogue)

2.15pm                        Auction starts

If you have items to donate for either event please bring them to the Church on Fri 2nd May between 6pm and 8pm, or phone Richard Piper on 01895 634348 if you need them to be picked up.  If you would like to have something auctioned on a commission basis please speak to Henry Gardner on 01895 674074.

You have supported the URC fundraising really well already this year, with the Coin Mountain and a record breaking Spring jumble sale getting us off to a great start.  Thanks to all those who attended or donated.  Let’s keep it up with this event – see you on 3rd May!

MEMORIAL SERVICE FOR THE BEREAVED

There will be a special Memorial Service at St Giles’ Church on Sunday 4th May at 3pm for those who are bereaved.  The names of the departed, whose funerals were conducted at Ickenham URC or by St Giles’ Church staff between the beginning of March 2007 and the end of February 2008, will be read out during the service.

Revd Bernie Collins, the URC Minister, will give a talk and members of the Churches’ Pastoral Support Group will be present.  After the service, the congregation will be invited to have refreshments in St Giles’ Church Hall.

Anyone who would find this service helpful is welcome to attend.

GET READY FOR HOLIDAY CLUB
