TIME FOR A JUMBLE CLEAR-OUT?
The URC will be holding one of their famous Jumble Sales on Saturday 21st March (10am 12 noon). Admission is free and we expect even bigger crowds than usual, in the light of the grim economic conditions. What we are concerned about is having enough stock to sell, so please consider having a bit of a clear-out and bringing items surplus to your requirements to the church on Friday 20th March between 6pm and 8pm. If you need items collected, call Richard Piper on 01895 634348.
We really appreciate any help you can give us. Half the proceeds go to this year’s chosen charities, which includes the Royal National Institute for the Blind, the other half to church funds.
And don’t forget the Coffee Morning and Coin Mountain on Saturday 7th March (also 10am 12 noon). Please save up any spare coins to add to the mountain while enjoying the usual coffee, tea and home-made produce.
SPRING COMES TO THE VILLAGE HALL
The February weather has not been particularly kind to gardeners, but we can still look forward to the usual impressive display of talent being on show when the Ickenham & Swakeleys Horticultural Society hold their Spring Show on Saturday 4th April. Doors at the Village Hall will open to the public at 2.30pm, and admission is free.
Receipt is acknowledged, with grateful thanks, for donations towards the cost of ICN, from:
Ickenham & Swakeleys Horticultural Society, Mothers’ Union, Anon of Greenway Flats, Alan Robins of Torquay, Barbara Donaldson of Chalfont St Giles.
Copy for the April edition of ICN should be with the team by 12 noon on 13th March.
PLAYERS AND GROUNDSMAN WANTED
T
he football transfer window may have closed, but Ickenham Youth Football Club is still hoping to find more young players to join the ranks. There are spaces in all existing teams, from Reception age through to Year 6. If interested, please call Derick McCorkell on 01895 621061 or 07973 226538.

The Club is also hoping to find someone who would be interested in regularly marking out a pitch or two on a Saturday, for the children to use on Sundays. The pitches are behind Douay Martyrs School, and paint and line-marking machine would be provided. Could you help? Again, if so give Derick a call.
