Have you ever signed the Great Book of Vyners? All pupils at the Warren Road senior school do so when they join (although perhaps no longer wearing shorts and Start-rite sandals...)
If yours is one of the names in that book, note the dates of the forthcoming 50th Anniversary Reunions for former pupils and staff.
Sat 27th June: intakes 1958 - 1970
Sat 11th July: intakes 1968 - 1983
Sat 19th Sept: intakes 1981 - 2002
At the June Reunion, you might spot some of the 1960 intake pupils who were adding their names to the book in the photos. Remember though, that they are now just about signing up for their bus passes, so they may look a little different! You will certainly see the school’s first Headmaster, Trevor Jaggar, who was overseeing the sign-in process. He will look a little older too.
On each of the dates, the school will be open from 6pm for those who would like a nostalgic look around. From 7pm – 11pm there will be a licensed bar and buffet. There will be background musical entertainment, and a few words from past and present heads. Mostly though, there will be plenty of time for you to reminisce at length with friends and staff about days gone by.
