Happy New Year! And after a short January break we have the first issue of ICN in 2012. It’s an opportunity to review Ickenham’s Christmas festivities – and especially pass on our thanks to Pam and Peter Cotmore, for their sterling efforts in arranging St Giles’ ‘Carols for the Family’ services over the last 12 years. We also welcome Jenny Askey in her role as the new St Giles’ Verger, and hear about the work of ICN advertiser David Bolton of Ickenham Aerials. We send our best wishes to him and to all our advertisers for their support, and hope the year is a successful one for them.
Ickenham’s Safer Neighbourhood Team give us their top tips for keeping our property safe, and there are dates to note in your diary – for URC fundraising events, the Women’s World Day of Prayer, and Breakspear School’s 75th birthday celebrations. Future ICN issues will keep you further up to date with these and other events in our village.
And if you didn’t get around to taking the E100 Bible Challenge last year, you may want to do so now. If so, here is the full list of the 100 readings that will give you an essential grasp of what the Bible has to tell us. There is still time to make that your resolution for 2012!
